Time savings and conduits.
Feb 24
Day off today. Friday is my day off. As I have said before, one day is just not enough for me. I had a rule which I have completely broken today, and that’s to do NO housework on my day off. I did a bit of gardening, which is a pleasure, then came in and cleaned the bathroom. Knackered physically now and this is the end of my one day off. Tomorrow I have to be up very early for a study day on the mainland.
Sorry, enough boring stuff. Last night we had a really interesting meeting. Well, the premise of the meeting was interesting. The idea was that we have formed ‘clusters’ of 4 groups of parishes – 13 churches I think in total. We met last night in order to see if we could make some time, energy, financial savings. Shared treasurers, administrators, Alpha Course for the whole Cluster etc. Quite an exciting thought that we can do this and thereby start to get on with the work we are supposed to do.
We have a new priest who is in her first incumbency in our cluster. She is the same age as me, and has this huge job on her hands. It makes me go cold just to think of me doing that in 2.5-3yrs time. I just don’t feel up to it, in any way, shape or form.
Struggling with confidence at the moment, not too sure why.
I think I might have written about this amazing experience I had the other day? I was asked to preach at this centre for healing, and it felt like God used me and talked through me. I talked all about wilderness I found myself in – which I wrote about on this blog two years ago now. Well I was there again this week and this lady came up to me and asked if my name was Rona. I said, yes, and she said that she had heard from a few people about what I had preached about the other day. She said she had really wished she had been there. She finished by telling me that I needed to hear that “I had blessed many people” with what I said the other day.
That was good to hear. It’s not me, but it is a joy to hear that I can be used as a conduit.
Thank you God.

It is wonderful that you can know that what you are doing is blessing others and inspiring them. If you don’t hear that then you might begin to think that you are not in tune with your calling… so do remind yourself and accept blessing from others in hearing it.
THanks so much for this kind comment!
